So I went to see this 2015 Mini Cooper S at a small dealer in Al Barsha yesterday and honestly I was already picturing myself zipping around town with the sunroof open and the turbo flutter sounds but then about ten minutes into the test drive the check engine light blinked on for maybe three seconds and then disappeared, and the seller acted like it was nothing just a loose fuel cap or something but I'm not exactly a mechanic and the whole thing left me with a pit in my stomach because I've read enough forum horror stories about timing chain tensioners and high pressure fuel pumps on these N18 engines to know that a blinking light is rarely just nothing, and now I'm stuck trying to figure out if I should just walk away or if I'm overreacting and it's worth paying for a proper Mini Cooper Pre Purchase Dubai Inspection to see what's really going on before I commit to anything, because the car looks so good otherwise and the price is right in my budget but I really don't want to end up with a money pit that needs a new engine six months from now, anyone else had a similar scare during a test drive and actually got a clean bill of health from an inspection afterwards or is my gut feeling usually right about these things.
