I've been saving up for ages and finally found a 2016 488 GTB over near Al Raha Beach that seems legit and the price is actually within reach if I stretch a little but the seller is some expat who's leaving the country in a few weeks and he keeps telling me how meticulous he was with the maintenance and how the car has never seen a track day even though it's got the carbon racing seats and a few other spicy options that make me raise an eyebrow, and look I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to cars I know what a clean Carfax looks like and I can spot obvious paint mismatch but when it comes to the dual clutch wear percentage or the state of the front lift accumulators I'm basically flying blind and I've read enough nightmare threads on FerrariChat to know that a "minor" hydraulic leak on these can turn into a twenty thousand dirham surprise faster than you can say Maranello, so I've been trying to find a shop here that actually knows these cars inside and out not just some generic garage that'll plug in a Launch scanner and tell me the engine codes are clear because that tells me nothing about whether the variators are on their way out or if the suspension bushings have been cooked by the Abu Dhabi heat, I found a page that mentioned Ferrari pre purchase inspection AbuDhabi and it got me thinking maybe there are actual specialists here who can do a proper deep dive including a paint meter check and a full diagnostic readout of the gearbox and DCT sensors, has anyone in the capital actually used a service like that for a modern Ferrari and did it save your skin or is the market here so small that you just have to roll the dice and pray the previous owner wasn't doing launch control at every single stoplight on the Corniche.
