SORT, change half a byte

Hi, I'm not really an expert in using SORT, therefore I have a request, which I can't solve at my own.

I want to change half of a byte in the way that the first 4 bits will become '1100' and the other 4 bits will remain as they are by using the OUTREC FIELDS= .

As I found no boolean operations within OUTREC FIELDS=, I currently have no idea how to do this...
