Hey folks,
I’ve always loved music, but lately I’ve been getting more curious about what happens behind the songs. I keep seeing credits for "songwriters," and I’m wondering — what exactly does a songwriter do?
Is a songwriter just the person who writes the lyrics? Or do they also help with the melody, hooks, or even the overall structure of the song? And how is that different from a music producer or the artist who performs the song?
Also, do most famous singers write their own songs, or is it more common for someone else to write them behind the scenes?
If anyone here is a songwriter or works in music, I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Just trying to understand how the creative side of the music industry works!
Thanks in advance!
