Mainframe Developer - Remote - (21000041)

Description:
Will act independently to translate business and technical requirements into well-engineered, tested, and deployed business application systems.  This includes the analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of information systems and acting as interface with customers and other developers to determine the most efficient and cost-effective approach to meet business requirements.  Projects utilize a variety of hardware and software technologies and may include new code construction, modifications to existing modules, and/or package implementation.  Incumbents apply disciplined software development processes and utilize leading edge technologies to engineer and implement their automated solutions to business problems.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign education equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics and six (6) years of experience performing systems analysis, development, and quality assurance testing of mainframe life insurance administration systems.

Special Requirements:
Demonstrated expertise documenting complex logical data and process modeling and translating Disability and Life insurance user needs into business and functional requirements. 
Demonstrated expertise performing batch processing of Disability and Life Insurance Policy Administration transactions.
Demonstrated expertise performing functional and regression testing in collaboration with quality assurance.
Demonstrated expertise performing analysis and mainframe programming using COBOL, IDEAL, JCL, CICS, DB2, DATACOM, SQL, SPUFI, VSAM or Change-Man.
Demonstrated expertise with CTG, Webservice and other middleware protocols for distributed system/mainframe communication
Demonstrated knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
Demonstrated in-depth insurance domain knowledge.

Location and Travel:
This role is a work from home position and can be located anywhere in the continental United States.  We have a preference for you to be located near one of our offices in the Northeast United States, specifically Hudson Yards in New York City, Holmdel NJ, Bethlehem PA, Pittsfield MA or Stamford CT.
